Working with everyday society’s remains: trash, belongings, footsteps, notes, actions, mistakes and constructions. A careful spectator of “public language”, turning nuance into metaphor. His practice takes various forms: portraiture of cats, delivery receipt poems, forged handwritings, found postcards, replicas of suitcases and recreations of bus stops. Khalid refracts how these objects could be viewed within a sociological and anthropological perspective.
Khalid is an alumnus of programs Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship and Campus Art Dubai 7.0 with previous group shows in Goa, Jeddah and Yorkshire.
